Aurora Borealis

Someday, we'll sit beneath the broad expanse of the sky, its comforting velvet black, and try as we might to touch the stars. The cluster will speak to us, whispering secrets from galaxies far away, murmuring stories of the Great Beyond, and reassuring us that it will watch over us for all time. And all the stars in the Universe will agree unanimously that they will take it upon themselves to guide us, wherever we may travel, however dark the path might become.

We shall lean back, nestling against the comfort of a rock, nestling against each other, a fire burning protectively before us, warding off the cold which coats the land with white. Our sighs will come out as clouds of mist, our ears shall be assailed with the soft, even rhythm of our breaths, punctuated only by the crackling of the fire, and nothing else besides.

Our fingers shall curl to keep away the frost, and our tongues will taste the silence. There will be only the lights of the sky to keep us still, presenting a tranquility lost in the hum of city, in amongst the rabid race of hopes, desires and fears. Only here will we breath easily, feel the inner calm we each have the ability to call forth.

We shall lose ourselves to the comfort of the moment, letting the curtains of the sky fall, and veil us from the darkness.

  1. I admire your ability to envision a picture of
a perfect hideaway to take shelter from the world we know from our everyday and let the world of fantasy to embrace us. It lights up the imagination and feels soothing at the same time :)

I wonder if could write something alike if
    I tried to ;)

  2. I'm sure you could :)

But yes, this would be my idea of a perfect night, actually. Not that I've ever seen snow, or anything, but I still think it would be perfect. But I think I live in the wrong hemisphere of the world...

  3. Believe me, after experiencing one heavy winter we occasionally have in Poland, you would change your mind pretty fast, I think ;)

  4. Hahaha, you're probably right. But you never know until you try, right?
Besides, I'm talking about sitting outside in a blizzard :P

  6. Just read my last comment, and realised I made a typo. I meant NOT sitting in a blizzard. Geez, who's crazy enough to do that?
But maybe the trick to having a night like that is picking a country that's not Poland, hahaha :P

  7. :O I should have realised that something was wrong ;) guess I'm not totally awoken ;)

:D frankly, I don't think many people in Poland would be keen on doing sth like that, but there are crazy people everywhere :P

  8. Haha, me neither, by the looks of things :P That's ok, who needs to be awake anyway?

This is true. People are crazy and do silly things.
So basically, what you're saying is that one day I'll see snow and think 'nope, not sitting out in that', right? :P

  9. That's exactly what I'm saying:P
Btw, it's funny that you would like to see it one day and my cuz who leaves also in Australia always gets terrified when I tell her she must visit Poland when there's the winter:P

  11. I think it's because she's never been to Poland when the temperature is around fifteen degrees below zero, that's first. Second, she seems to enjoy Australia's heats. Put it together and you know why :P

  12. Ah, I understand now. See, I feel the opposite about Australia's weather; I really don't like the heat. I much prefer the cold :)
